QA Engineer - API

MindSource specializes in placing technology professionals with companies in the Silicon Valley Region. We have an immediate need for an experienced QA ENGINEER with one of our clients in Mountain View, CA. This is a CONTRACT position for 6 months.
The candidate will be responsible for creating test plan and test cases based on project requirement and UI/engineering designs. Candidate will also be responsible for creating/executing automated test suites for backend API testings as well as manual tests. The candidate will work closely with developers, UI designers and project managers in delivering high-quality products.
- Qualifications :
The candidate must meet the following qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of QA experience.
Able to create test plan and test cases independently and execute test plans thoroughly.
Hands-on experience in testing backend APIs - at least 1 year
Strong programming OR scripting experience is a MUST - Perl is preferable to Java or C++
Experience in navigating through a Unix File System is a MUST.
Strong debugging, analytical and problem solving skills.
Able to work independently and as a team-player.
Good communication skills.
Passion for excellence in quality.
Testing experience with mobile applications is desirable.
